Think Work Live Positive 2016, a roaring success
On the 23rd of April 2016, at GUST – Gulf University for Science & Technology, the curtains were raised for the third time on the biggest and most ambitious conference on positivity in the GCC – Alnowair’s Think Work Live Positive.
This year’s conference was based on the theme – Tough Makes Tough, dedicated to struggle and its benefits. The idea behind the conference was to create awareness about struggle and how one can learn and benefit from struggle.
Doctors, working mothers, teachers, government employees, management from corporations, media houses, banks, communication giants the event was attended by people from all walks of life, as Kuwait came together to explore the endless possibilities that a positive attitude can give us.
TWL + 2016 was headlined by Dr. Adam Fraser, one of the world’s leading positive psychologist and human performance researcher. Dr. Adam proved once again to be the immensely likeable, endearing and funny. His anecdotal seminar showed people how one can make struggle work and get in the high performance zone. His undeniable energy and enthusiasm enthralled the audiences, who were moved from laughter to applause all during the talk. He captivated audiences on the second day as well with an in depth workshop on how you can develop greater mental toughness and achieve your dreams.
He was joined by Darren Hill one of Australia’s most in-demand strategists, who spoke about The Edge Effect, explaining how one can thrive in a relentless change environment. He shared with the audience the critical patterns of success and how by exploring, adapting and specializing we can successfully navigate change. He later gave an enthralling workshop, giving practical ideas on how one can toughen Up, and shared a science based approach to building resilience.
The conference was concluded by a special guest panel consisting of Noor Al Qatami, listed by CEO Middle East as one of the world’s most powerful Arab women, Zaid Al Refai– the first Arab to climb Mt. Everest and the seven summits and Shamlan Al Bahar, entrepreneur and promoter of young talent. The panel shared their experiences, struggles and victories with host Sheikha Intisar Al Sabah, inspiring and moving the audience with their stories with struggle.
The event was not only limited to the conference room, as many interesting activities were lined up for the attendees outside the hall. Activities such as the conference Selfie Booth, Write a Letter to your Future Self, Are You #OnTheYellowSide Quiz and In the Face of Struggle wall. The activities turned out to be refreshing breaks from the long seminars and kept the mood and theme of the event light.
Think Work Live Positive 2016 was a tremendous success with over 200 people attending the event during the 2 days. We would like to especially thank our supporters - PACE, GUST, Kuwait Finance House, IAA – Kuwait Chapter, Ph7 and Eventat.
After the success of Think Work Live Positive 2016, we are already excited about the next year, when TWL+ will be back bigger, better and even more comprehensive.
