It was 2 days filled with joy, happiness and fresh positive enthusiasm. On the 27th of April 2014 at GUST, Alnowair opened Think Work Live Positive Conference in Kuwait. The first of its kind conference on the subject of positivity.
Doctors, working mothers, teachers, government employees, management from corporations, media houses, banks, communication giants the event was attended by people from all walks of life, as Kuwait came together to explore the endless possibilities that a positive attitude can give us.
Over 300 people attended the 1st day of the Think Work Live Conference which was devoted to a 6 hour long of seminar which included keynotes by distinguished speakers such as Jack Canfield, Adam Fraser and Todd Kashdan. As well as a performance by Miami The Band and a live interview with Mohamed Bilal. The day was concluded with a 3 hour long workshop by Dr. Jack Canfield
Speakers such as Jack Canfield, Todd Kashdan and Adam Fraser gave lectures on how a positive attitude can benefit us. In each of their 45 minute keynotes they gave away tools and techniques one should follow in order to cultivate a more positive outlook. The seminars were followed by a riveting performance by Miami the Band, who performed “Tabasm” an exclusively composed song for Alnowair and the conference. The Q&A discussion panel took place after the performance, where each speaker answered questions asked by the audience and openly discussed their thoughts on how we can cultivate a more positive attitude. A special screening of Alnowair’s Heroes of Everyday series was made after the panel interview, followed by a special tribute to Mohammed Bilal, in service as a First Officer in Kuwait’s Traffic Department since 1983. He later gave an interview on stage, where he shared with the audience on how he is motivated to serve the country with positivity and enthusiasm. The event was concluded with a surprise, as all the attendees were asked to write down a compliment or a well wish on a yellow paper plane and fling it in any direction for others to have. The event was not only limited to the conference room, as many interesting activities were lined up for the attendees outside the hall. Activities such as Pick an instant boost of Positivity, take a conference selfie and the wall of positive influencers, turned out to be as refreshing breaks from the long seminars and kept the mood and theme of the event light.
An hour’s break later the conference moved into the Workshop theatre as Jack Canfield conducted the first workshop of the conference explaining the power of a positive focus and how to get from where you are to where you want to be. Over 140 people attended the Jack Canfield workshop, where he showed how we can change the outcome of any event, simply by changing our response to it among other points.
The second day continued in the same vein, as the attendees were treated to a 3 hour workshop by Adam Fraser called Aftershock – How to be a Positive Influencer on your Environment, he explained to over 100 attendees how every behavior we exhibit sends an aftershock and affects the people around us. The 2 day event was concluded with Todd Kashdan’s workshop called “Become Psychologically Flexible”, in the workshop Todd showed the attendees how we can fundamentally change our relationship with unwanted thoughts and feelings instead of trying to reduce their intensity or frequency.
The conference was a tremendous success with over 600 people attending the event during the 2 days. It would not have been possible with the amazing support of the sponsors Gulf University of Science and Technology, Gulf Bank, IAA – Kuwait Chapter and all the amazing volunteers who gave their time and effort to make the event a pleasant and memorable experience for all the attendees.
