Is a systematic program that is designed to promote a more positive attitude amongst the youth and schools of Kuwait. The aim of the program is to instil an optimistic attitude amongst the students and inspire them to look at themselves and others in a positive light. Our goal is to influence students through practical exercises and help them develop a more positive outlook towards life situations.
The program is designed to promote positivity through easy to perform 2 minute exercises during school hours. The exercises are all derived from scientifically proven techniques and are adapted from Alnowair’s tree of positivity, which is kindness, simplicity, mindfulness, gratitude, joy, truthfulness and making a difference. The program is about teaching and reinforcing the intuitive philosophy that you feel good about yourself and about others when you do positive actions.
The pilot phase of the program started in the academic year 2014 – 2015. The number of schools increased after the word was out about the program, until it reached 20 schools. The pilot stage consisted of: orientations, teachers training on how to use 5 exercises, positivity index as a measurement tool, and few training aids.
And here's what participating teachers had to say about the program:
Fatma Al Rashed – Adan High school:
I noticed improvement in the behavior of the students through lower absence rates from classes, and improvement in the level of educational attainment for the vulnerable group of students, in addition to a clear change in behavior so introverted student became involved in the selection of her classmates everyday phrases.
Kholood Murad – Adan High School
There was a big improvement in the behavior of the students and their commitment to presence of classes as well as an improvement the language of communication with the other teachers.
Dalal Al Fahad – Rawda High School
One of the students was the epitome of riots and quarrelsome and fabricating problems as well as poor academic performance with low grades, and after participating, the style of dealing with herself and the people around greatly changed as well as improvement on the academic level.
Another student had limited ambition in a limited and narrow the field and after applying the campaign and doing exercises it led to the breadth of her ambition and desire to continue the search for the best.
